What AeroTrainer collects, why, who processes it, and how you can delete it.

AeroTrainer is an aviation training app made by TJ Aeronautical. This policy covers the AeroTrainer apps for Android, iPhone and iPad, and the AeroTrainer services they connect to. We do not sell personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
1. Information we collect

Aircraft packs you build (panels, procedures, charts, weight & balance data) and imported page images are stored on your device.
2. Aircraft documents you upload
You can add an aircraft by uploading its cockpit poster and manuals (PDF). AeroTrainer first reads them on your device. When on-device reading finds too little, or when you choose an AI read, the pages you selected (page images and their printed text) are sent over an encrypted connection to the AeroTrainer server and from there to OpenAI to produce a draft, which is returned to your device for you to review. These pages are not shown to other users.
Only upload documents you are entitled to use, and do not upload documents containing personal data about other people or confidential operator information you are not permitted to share.
3. How we use information
- To create and secure your account, sign you in and sync your training records.
- To read aircraft documents and produce drafts you asked for.
- To verify purchases and restore paid access.
- To find and fix crashes and measure which features are used.
- To answer support, privacy and deletion requests, and to prevent abuse of the service.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not combine it with data from other companies for advertising or sell it to data brokers.
4. Usage recording
To understand how AeroTrainer is used, our server records usage events from a fixed list: app opened, area opened, drill started or finished (procedure, result, score), flashcard session (deck, number of cards), a locked item reached, an upgrade tapped and a purchase started. Events carry feature identifiers, counts, results and scores, not free text. They are linked to a hashed account identifier, which is still account-linked data. We also store the platform, app version, plan tier (free or paid) and a two-letter country code derived from the network (not your IP address). Raw events are kept for at most 90 days; daily totals with no account identifier are kept to show trends.
5. Service providers
We use these providers to run AeroTrainer. Each processes information only as needed for the purpose shown and under its own terms and privacy policy.

6. Purchases
Apple or Google processes your payment. We receive the identifiers needed to confirm your purchase, never your full payment-card number. To manage or cancel a subscription on iPhone or iPad, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, open Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
7. Microphone
The optional Listen for my callouts setting in the cockpit drill is off until you turn it on. When on, the app listens only during your own callout lines and recognises speech on your device. The audio and recognised words are not recorded, stored or sent to us or anyone else. You can withdraw microphone permission in your device settings at any time.
8. Retention and deletion
Account, training and purchase records are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period needed for recovery, security, fraud prevention, accounting or legal obligations. Diagnostic data follows the retention settings of the provider. Data stored only on your device is removed when you delete the app.
To delete your account and the data linked to it, follow Account and data deletion. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.
9. Your choices and rights
- Use the app without the optional AI features and without turning on the microphone setting.
- Manage app permissions in your device settings.
- Ask for access to, correction of, a copy of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing info@tjaeronautical.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your data protection authority.
We may ask you to confirm that you own the account before acting on a request.
10. Children
AeroTrainer is intended for aviation students and professionals and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security and international transfers
Data is sent over encrypted connections and protected by our providers' security controls. No method is perfectly secure; contact us if you believe your account has been compromised. Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States, under their own safeguards.
